US Navy Assists With Search and Rescue Operation of Sunken Ferry

A ferry carrying over 450 passengers, mostly students from a high school in Ansan, capsized off South Korea’s southwest coast early on Wednesday, April 16. The ferry was near the island of Jindo in South Jeolla Province when it encounter difficulties. Many of the passengers were students from Danwon High School in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, on a school trip.

This footage shows an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25, landing on the flight deck aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) after conducting search and rescue operations.
