Protests Continue in Ferguson for a Tenth Night

Protests over the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown continued for a tenth consecutive day in Ferguson, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 19. Earlier in the day, people gathered outside Ferguson Market and Liquor, the store allegedly robbed by Michael Brown, chanting “Hands up, Don’t shoot”. Around 150 people marched from the market down West Florissant Avenue.

Also on Tuesday, St Louis police reported that of its two officers had shot and killed a knife-wielding man. The 23-year-old black man walked towards the officers brandishing a knife and said “Shoot me now, kill me now”, according to St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson.
