Police Say 'Turning Point' Reached as Protests Continue

Ferguson police spoke of a “turning point” after a tenth night of unrest in the area, saying officers had not used tear gas or fired their weapons to disperse demonstrations.

Speaking at a press conference in the early hours of August 20, Captain Ronald Johnson gave credit to local clergy and community volunteers for having a “calming influence” on the people of Ferguson. There were 47 arrests made overnight, with one man reportedly taken into custody for the third time. Credit: YouTube/KARG Argus Radio
