Hurricane Odile Set to Strike Baja

High winds and heavy rains hit Cabo San Lucas on September 14, hours before Hurricane Odile was set to strike Mexico’s Baja California Sur. On August 14, The US National Hurricane Center reported that Odile was a strong category three hurricane, but was expected to upgrade to a category four as the storm continued to move towards the peninsula with sustained wind speeds of up to 125 mph.

The organization reported that rainfall of up to 15 inches was likely in some areas, with dangerous storm surges and flooding predicted in coastal regions.
