Governor Perry: Schoolchildren Had Contact With Ebola Patient

Texas Governor Rick Perry held a press conference in Dallas on October 1 where he said that “some schoolchildren” had come into contact with Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan. Duncan reportedly arrived in Dallas from Liberia, where he came into contact with the virus. “Some school-age children have been identified as having had contact with the patient, and are now being monitored at home for having signs of the disease,” said Perry.

Perry addressed the concerns of parents, and said that the disease “cannot be transmitted before having any symptoms… the disease is not airborne, it is substantially more difficult to contract than the common cold”. Credit: YouTube/Governor Perry
