EPA's Clean Power Plan Formally Announced

On June 2, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator Gina McCarthy formally announced the EPA’s sweeping proposal to tackle climate change. The initiative aims to cut carbon pollution from power plants.

“The glue that holds this plan together — and the key to making it work — is that each state’s goal is tailored to its own circumstances, and states have the flexibility to reach their goal in whatever works best for them,” McCarthy said.
