(WHAS11) -- It's a love story you would probably only see in the movie theater, but tonight we have two high school sweet hearts who lost touch in the 1950's. Now in their 80's they finally meet again at Louisville International Airport. WHAS11's Anna Prendergast has their story.

My high school sweetheart and I were reunited after being apart 46 years. We each had 40 year marriages in between. Our flame was still alive, and we have been married for 4 years.

After my wife of 50 years died last year I found a picture of my first love from 1955. I tracked her down and found that she lost her husband two years ago. We met again this week and plan to see each other again. Hope all goes well.

life is short. They are lucky they met at their younger days and reunited after more than 50 years. Full of sweet memories will flashback as they share their stories together.

may they live happily ever after.

If given a chance, I would love to see my lovely classmate in high school too.

I had a girl back in Philadelphia when I was in jr. high school. She was my first true love.
I have been married three times. My present wife of twenty five years is the greatest woman
in the world and I love her dearly. However I still think of Martha Cain when ever I am sitting alone having a beer or when I am day dreaming. I hope that she has had a full and happy life.
I feel very lucky to have had such a girl at that time and also to have the girl that I have now.
There is no love like YOUNG LOVE R. Q.

I am very happy for them. God bless their reunion. Here is an other miracoulus reunion.
Last year I have reunited with my daughter after 56 years of separation. I had to escape from my native Country when she was just 3 years old. For the last year and a half I was searching for her, and with God's assistance, we found each other again. You see !! Miracles can happen even nowadays.

My husband and I were high school sweethearts in 1965 and we've been happily married for 45 years, have 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grand son. Marriage CAN last many years if there's love, respect and a good sense of humor. I think now days, couples don't respect each other, and women are way too easy!

this is for janeane. one reason also is divorce. there's divorce that even "no signature of the other party needed" it's easy to change partner. that's why this country is very very morally sick because the basic unit of the society which is the family is broken. congratulations, janeane.

it really happened. a real life story on tv was shown in my country. they were lovers before the WWII. separated, each met another partner. after they had even great grand kids they met again and wed because the boy was still single and the girl was a widow.

My high school sweetheart and I were crazy in love. We made a mistake and decided to stay overnight at a campground. Her father found out. He was crazy. We had not "done" anything but it was not a smart thing for us to do. We panicked and took off across the country. He did scare us that much! Long story short, we split up because of the pressure to stay together was hurting our lives. I never wanted it to end. I went into the military and saw her one time when I was home on leave. I was still in love with her and said it didn't have to end there. We went our separate ways. I wrote her a letter 10 years later and mentioned how much she meant to me. We were supposed to meet up when she was in town but she never called. About two years ago her mother contacted me on Facebook. I was excited to hear from her after 33 years. I was close to her mother. I asked how her daughter was....She wrote back and told me that she had recently passed away from cancer. I was in shock and tears. A day had never gone by where I did not think about her. I always hoped we would see each other again. A big piece of my life just broke off even though she was not in my life. Her mother once told us "If it is love it will last." Well, the love lasted but the relationship did not. I still think of her every day and send flowers to her mother on the anniversary of her death.

Think of all the years they missed. Luck is right most don't get that chance. Not particularly sappy about this story if you love someone you shouldn't let them go to begin with.

funny...when the cup of life was full....the drink looked bitter........and now that it has aged...and covered over .... tarnished and cobwebed...the drink looks fine.....truly .....love is blind....and perhaps tasteless.
